    Question about welding LCA plates onto LCA's

    Team,

    Im about to weld on the LCA re enforcement plates adn am wondering if you should clamp the TB end closed a little per the direction of the arrows below in order to somewhat tighten up the TB mount socket, but still leve it free to rotate as such. Do I, dont I, shoudl I??????

    As long as it can freely rotate then you are good.

    It would suck when it came time to install the torsion bars and you couldn't get any rotation to get them in.

    As usual I did mine differently , lack of funds always creates innovation !!
     I used a thicker piece of bar welded inside the arm , stronger & less visable LOL

    I did like shown in video above on mine. I would be careful just clamping it without cutting the other side loose first so it closes the gap evenly

    Mine barely have a gap but I'd like to tighten it a smidge

    Watch the video Brad posted and compare yours to the ones he shows, think about what improvement it will make on yours and decide if it is worth the little bit of extra trouble to cut the other side loose and tighten it all up evenly. I would recommend you do it as it is very little extra work if you are already welding on the plates.

    I also clamped mine a bit before welding. Other side was very good from the factory and basically needed only minor pressure but the other one needed a bit more clamping.

    I did not clamp mine as I wanted a nice overhang on the lca side. This made it really easy to have a really nice looking weld bead
