1970 E-body parking brake mechanism - spring inside?
« on: April 02, 2014 - 09:46:22 PM »
Is there a spring inside the 1970 parking brake mechanisms?  I seem to recall there being one but I only see pictures of the 71+ parking brakes with the spring near the base of the foot lever.

Yes there is a very small diameter offset end spring inside on the 70 which is commonly broke and missing. It pulls back the small tooth lever to make it engage so your pedal stays down. I have fabbed many of them when i needed them through the years but they may be available repo now. Can also be a bit tricky to instal but not too bad with a spring tool

Thanks, I found filmsurgeon's photos showing where they go on another site.  Any chance you know how long the spring and offset leads should be?
