HELP!! Starter relay to fuse box
« on: April 26, 2014 - 01:38:43 PM »
I have a  challenger and today I lost all power to the car. I found a dark green wire and not sure where it came from. I hope this is the problem. I traced the wire and it starts at the front of the fuse box plugged in at the BATT area and then goes up to the starter relay area ( please see photo ) Can anyone help me please.

That's most likely not your problem.  Check and clean the connections to the battery, then trace those wires to the starter and firewall.

You  need to show picture of firewall plug -in [bulkhead].  But, if you have "NO" power at all!?  Jump that wire to positive side of battery briefly. Don't do this unless you are knowledgeable about 12v systems DC. Here is a picture of bulkhead from some great members here.
  Sorry I was slow posting.
The metal connectors may be dirty in the bulkhead. Inspect them close. This is a common thing.  :2cents:

The 3-speed and 4-speed cars had a dark green wire that went from the clutch pedal switch, through a grommet, and to the starter relay (so you couldn't start the car without the clutch depressed).  It doesn't explain why your car doesn't have any power, but maybe it's another piece of the puzzle.  Judging from the yellow wire plugged in to the relay at the 7 o'clock position, I'm presuming you have an automatic, but if so, that black wire in the 5 o'clock position hooked to body ground isn't legit.  That spot should have the other wire from the neutral safety switch, a brown wire with a yellow stripe.  Do you have a wiring diagram?
