Wiper gear lube?
« on: January 16, 2013 - 09:00:23 PM »
I finally got around to testing my wiper motor and the dang thing works!  little knobs rotate on the cowel area... :clapping:

Since it's been sitting for years, is there something I should lube and an easy way to do that without taring everything apart?

Does it help to spray a little silicone lube on the wiper knobs (the part the arms attach to) hoping it will seep into that area it is rotating in?

Thanks for any advice.

You can spray in white lithium or I would use silicone grease but not the spray type .

I'm attempting to rebuild some three speed wiper motors. What is the correct grease to use in these wiper motors? I have some Lubriplate garage door opener gear box grease and also come Bentonite based grease used for lawn and garden gear box apps. Do you think either one would be ok to use?

Ltihum is a long lasting grease but may harden up over time , silicone lube / grease will not harden
