Challenger exterior door handle

Had a delivery guy bring my new mower this afternoon before I got home and he told the wife that his dad had a cuda and I should go by and see it, which I will..  But liked my Challenger and asked to see the interior.  The wife started to open the drivers door........and off came the lift part of thr handle.   BROKE.  Guess it's time to spend more money...   Why does things come in threes?   First the washer, the lawn mower, and now the door handle!    And had the Nitro parked in the drive since I was working on the bragger assembly, had a big rain storm and now have about an inch if water in the floorboard due to the sunroof drain being stopped up.

Hey, Dave. sorry to hear this, man. I had the same thing happen, but it was about 20 years ago when I had no money whatsoever. I drove the car for 6 months getting in and out of the passenger door

David, That's one more reason why I don't like sunroofs......as for the Challey IT happens & hey you get to put a pair of shiny new handles on her+++

I hear ya! The family suburban is making noises ( sounds like the rack is on it's way out) our main computer just crapped and the wireless router , so $800 later I'm back online. I'm baby sitting my Dad's car while he is away for 2 months, I get in it yesterday and the dash lights up saying "service traction control- limited engine power" Seems like the typical bad things happen in 3's scenario
Haven't even started the Challenger since last fall, we just got another 3-4 inches of snow ontop of the 3" we got the night before!

We'll.....good news, I fixed the handle.  I will post some pics from the desk top later.  Maybe there will be some good things happening in threes this week.

I kept looking at the handle in my hand and the housing in the door...........I know I had to take it  off the door so I did and then looked at the broken lever part.  Then the thought process  started........Why not try to fix.......I love to fix stuff........anyway.......I thought I would drill a hole in the broken stud lever...I had bought a tap and die set a while back and what a good time to put it to use...So I found a screw and started the process.  Then I had to figure how to hold the handle to the stud.......another hole and screw and a bridge........So far it works........may last a week........maybe a life time.......Saved some $$$$$

I know she is not show quality..........but I can get in and out now...........

Just an FWIW guys,

 Cuda and Challenger door handles are not the same shape. I have after-market Cuda door handles on my because that was available years back. The Challenger door handles have a slight curve, where the Cuda handles are straight.

Absolutely correct on not being the same. The Cuda/Barracuda handles have a slight curve outwards from the door, where the Challenger handles have a slight curve inwards. This was to match the curvature of the doors. It has been a long time since the "REAL" Challenger handles were available.  Factory optioned for only one to manufacture for replacement and all the new ones are the Barracuda style. Once in awhile You can find an original challenger and then use the "parts" from the Barracuda handle to keep the correct looking part on the car.

 Cuda and Challenger door handles are not the same shape. I have after-market Cuda door handles on my because that was available years back. The Challenger door handles have a slight curve, where the Cuda handles are straight.
