Seeking a hood release lever
« on: May 04, 2014 - 09:05:46 PM »
To fit a '72 'Cuda.  Mine is okay except the little coil spring on the pivot pin is broken, and of course the (special) pin is bucked on the small end instead of just having a nut; brilliant.  :eek7:  I think this lever differs between the years too.  I could try it fix it but I dunno  :dunno:
MOPAR or NO car!

'72 'Cuda 340, white on white
'72 Sebring; bracket project
'64 Imperial Crown black on black
'66 Imperial Crown; parts car

I'm in the same exact situation.  :pullinghair:
There has to be a way to replace that spring without re-engineering the darn thing.
Luckily, a member here has one I believe to be a match, along with the hood latch/lock assembly.
I'm sure someone here will have a spare to get rid of.
Good luck on your find.

Yeah, the rest of the assembly is pristine.  I have seen sold (new) alone the yoke, latch, pop-up spring, and the whole unit... but not the lever.  What the hell?  :o
I'm in no hurry, we're still doing quarters and floors, but some day.
