Alum heads would probably make it livable on 93 octane with maybe a bit of additive / mixing

Just what I was thinking.  If getting pinging with 95 Octane, timing could be too advanced,
or heads and temps under hood might be very hot.  A good alum radiator could get head
coolant temps around 180, then with 92 octane, and a little bottle of octane booster, and cut
back on total timing a tad, may be allright. Playing with the Av gas and stuff is nasty and dangerous
in my opinion. I use to use it.  Also, vent engine compartment to keep temps down, and have phenolic
spacer under carb, 160 Thermostat, etc.  I ram cold air into my carb, which helps a lot.
