I think it is time to sell my nearly complete project. I haven't touched it in a year because I have a growing family and no time or money. Not sure where to start on an asking price. I have about $35,000 in it in total, but I am not trying to recoup that, just want a fair price.
I KNOW what you are going through ... been there myself ... allow me to pass on a little nugget of a lesson learned.
In '83, before I met my future (and current) wife, I managed to purchase a real-deal '70 HemiCuda for $11,500.
Met wife in '86 ... sold HemiCuda the same year and "downsized" to a more affordable '70 Challenger convertible.
In '89 wife wrecked Challenger convertible ... with "a growing family" I could only afford a '70 Duster 340 as a replacement for the Challenger.
By '93 all Mopars were gone and I was driving a mini-van
21 years later kids are now grown and out of the house and I'm looking at trying to get back in to the Mopar hobby but my how prices have skyrocketed!
For $11,500 I might, MIGHT, be able to find a decent "builder", but a Hemi, HAH! I couldn't even "sniff" a Hemi engine for that kind of cha-ching now!
So what is the "nugget" of a lesson learned?
If at all possible ... HANG ON TO YOUR CAR AND STASH IT AWAY SOMEWHERE!!
Stuff it in the garage ... put it in your folks garage ... put it in your wife's folks garage ... stuff in your uncles barn ... etc, etc, etc.
Hang on to it if you can and save it for the future ... before you know it, 20 years will have gone by and you'll be kicking yourself for letting it go (like I am
)
