Rigged up an oil separator, and put it on my PCV line. The line is 3/8 inch,
and to make the diameter smaller, I also put a section of 1/4 inch vacuum tubing
inside the 3/8 inch line, held tight by a hose clamp. Have driven about 100 miles
in the last two months, and tonight I pulled the drain cap off the bottom of the
separator, and got about 3 tablespoons of oil. So, my PCV system is still sucking oil
from under the vavle cover, even though I have a baffle in the valve cover. I probably
would have had more oil in the separator if the line was an open 3/8 inch.
So, I would recommend an oil separator on your PCV line, to keep the oil from
mucking up your intake manifold, valves, and the rest.
