Power at the coil terminals question

Hey Guys,

I'm doing some prelim checks on my engine stuff while awaiting a few parts to start her up.
Question,
With an MSD system, the engine not running but the key in the run position, should I have power at the coil terminals?
Everything is hooked up and the engine cranks, but no power to the coil terminals with the key in the run position.

If I should have power at the coil terminals, what would be a good start to look at?
Again, it's an MSD ignition system (not sure that makes a difference here).

nope , the MSD does not power the coil until it is cranking / triggered by the dist

Wow Tom it looks like we are on somewhat of the same road here.

Yeah the coil is devoid of power until cranking.

I just posted how we were about neck and neck on our rides. Yours much more detailed and nicer but non the less, workin to get road worthy.  :bigsmile:
