window moulding clip pegs

here is what I have for my window channels. If I only have two clips on each side for the windshield will the trim hold or fly off? what about across the top? As you can see, I have some screw in types, are these different than the peg and clip or do they work the same way? I see I have a lot of little holes that look like they may have had clips at one time...

The molding won't fly off with only two clips on  the side, but it probably won't lie down flat either.  I'd put another clip near the bend.

What size bit should be used when making the new screw holes?

Start small, maybe 3/32".  If the screw is too tight, drill it a little larger: 7/64", or larger if need be.  Center punch before you drill so you have the holes exactly where you want them.
