Right stuff is the wrong stuff
« on: April 25, 2014 - 08:27:42 PM »
I've got a right stuff disc brake system that has floating calipers that rattle and clunk like hell.  Can anyone recommend a solid mounted caliper system that would bolt to my existing spindles?

Are you referring to slider calipers?  I use the slider type from a '79 Diplomat. The outer pad sometimes needs to have the tabs hammered down so they just "snap" into the caliper. I also put a very thin coating of the high heat brake grease on the track the caliper slides on. I also don't use those rubber bands. No noise or anything for me. The brakes are quiet.

I agree with bc3j.  The outer pad needs to fit snug.  I also spray on the red "disc brake quiet".  No noise at all.

Are the caliper mounts new? If not, they may be worn. Quite a common problem.
If I cant fix it, it's broke
