PCV/breather question
« on: May 15, 2014 - 10:10:57 AM »
I bought a PCV/breather kit for my 360.  The kit consists of two aluminum breather assemblies.  One is a breather with a filter, the second is a breather with a PCV valve on the inside.  I test fit them into my fabricated aluminum valve covers and they come very close to touching the baffle.  There is only about an 1/8" clearance between the bottom of the breather and the baffle.  Is this an acceptable clearance?  I don't know how close the factory ran their breathers to the baffle to compare.   The baffle itself is located about 3/4" from the top of the valve cover.  I plan on running a oil vapor separator but I was concerned that an 1/8" clearance might suck up a lot of oil.  The baffle is at an angle though so any oil should run off and not pool on top.

Just run it or do I need to mod anything?
