Those with tremecs are seeing the difficult in motion shifts simply because our clutch plates are quite a bit heavier than the modern ones the gearbox was designed for. So what happens is the next gear does not mesh until the brass synchro has braked the gear down to match the coupler. Because of the rotating mass being heavier then it takes longer for the synchronizer to match the components speed together. Hence the longer shift time. In fact these longer shifts are damaging the synchronizer cones. There is not much that can be done about this except replace the gearbox with another type such as Passon which would be expensive.
