Twist dial under dash, above headunit? Fader switch?
« on: May 19, 2014 - 11:03:05 AM »
There is a twist dial mounted under the dash, above the headunit in my 73 challenger. I originally thought it was the fader, but I've seen pictures of the fader mounted next to the heater panel and it has "rear spekaers" inscribed on it? The dial on my car just has a curved arrow, when I twist, I hear the speakers pop. Is this a fader knob or something else?

Post a picture of it.  Does your car have the standard dash or the Rallye dash?  I think the standard dash had a different setup...in a different location.

It's the standard dash. It looks just like the dimmer switch. I'll try to grab a pic tonight.

Here you go, looks like all the speakers are wired into this dial:

The knob certainly isn't anything from the factory. :2cents:

Possibly a control for a reverb unit? Yeah, I know, I'm showing my age. :burnout:

Pretty sure I have one of those fader switches and panel at home if you need one.
