Will a 440 and 727 fit into a 1967 Barracuda
« on: April 14, 2005 - 11:51:31 AM »
I found a deal on a 1967 Barracuda locally. It looks like a small block 318 with auto trans and column shift. I have a 440 with a 727 trans. Would they swap into the 67 body with out allot of trouble?????

Thanks,
Jonesy.

67 was the first year for the bigger engine compartment in tyhe A bodys & yes i fits .... without a lot of trouble is a matter of opinion , there are special exahst manifolds or chassis & fenderwell headers available to fit as well

If its a factory motor its a 273,   the 440 will fit   read very tight a hemi will fit in there.     The motor is very heavy for that small car and will be a pain to work on      but it will scream in a strait line, keep it out of corners.

They put 383 in 67-69
440 in 69 and hemi's in 68.

A lot of people are putting the 380hp crate motor in these as the only motor avalible in a 67 b cuda were the /6's and the 2 and 4bbl 273

Sounds like a cool car               lets see pictures

I have a big block Swinger with front and rear sway bars. I would rally it with any factory big block e body and not expect to loose..
