70 challenger Restoration
« on: June 11, 2014 - 01:24:53 PM »
Started restoring my 70 challenger.  Looks as if I'll need quarter panels due to rust in the fwd and aft lower wheel well pockets of the panels. Was going to replace just below the body contour line down. AMD only have the full quarters available the quarter skins are on back order. Top half of quarters are in good shape.  Really do not want to replace good sheet metal if not necessary.

Full 1/4's are the better way to go. Less work to install, less bondo, better finished product.
AMD is doing you a favor by not having skins in stock :2cents:

Welcome to the site , I agree AMD has top quality products , you will probably need outer wheel houses as well

Starting to look like two quarters, trunk floor, maybe two extensions, outer wheel wells and rear cross member which the bumper attaches. Hate to remove all this sheet metal since it's the original skins, but if it's bad then it has to go. Do one of the quarter panels have to be off in order to replace a one piece trunk floor?

I've heard that they can be slid in from the rear if the rear tail panel welds are grinded off or have it tilted up to slide it in.
