MSD Blaster 2 coil out of spec?
« on: June 08, 2014 - 01:56:42 PM »
did an ohm test on the coil due to my car breaks up very consistently @ 5300 rpm.
spec primary .7 ohms,test .7 ohms. primary spec 4.7K ohm,test 10.68k ohms.
my ignition consists of an old 6A cd box, new firecore distributor, new firecore wires and the old msd coil.
could I have found the culprit? car runs great up to 5300 rpm's and I was considering a spring swap.

If you have higher resistance than a stock one then yeah it's time to get a new one.

They are fairly cheap in comparison to other items so it should be an easy fix.
