4 corner idle
« on: June 19, 2014 - 08:29:03 AM »
OK, I now have a carb with 4 idle screws. Are they all supposed to be adjusted equally? Like all 4 one turn counterclockwise?
Right now I have the secondary screws at about 1/2 turn out and the primaries at 1 turn out and the AFR is reading at 12.5. Should they all be the same? The factory setting was 3/4 turn out at the secondaries and a little over one turn out primaries. I can adjust it so the afr reads 14-14.5 but the secondaries are only about 1/4 open, primaries 3/4 open :dunno:. Is that ok?

Yes & no assuming the throttle plates are all open equally the idle screws should all be even , , if the secondary plates are closed down you would need less idle mix so if it runs right 1/2 turn out on the rear & 1 turn out on the front you are OK
