70 cuda B-5 blue nice driver condition 40g
« on: July 03, 2014 - 07:53:58 AM »
Hello guys
I looked at a nice driver 70 cuda 340 4spd numbers match "except" for block, block has no casting and owner says believed it was a warranty, so no way to tell. Car has nice paint except for a micro bubble on one spot on quarter. Nice interior needing door panels to make it really sharp. It has a console rim blow steering, non original shaker hood that looks very good. Frame rails never repaired and original floors never repaired. Trunck was replaced. I have no photos on the car so I know this is difficult to assess by writing. Car is really clean has no build sheet but has the fender tag, dash is mint as well as gauges all work and all lights, really clean. What do you think a there abouts price would be reasonable on this based on my description? Any help and feedback is appreciated  :feedback:

As you said very hard to say without pictures. Bubbles usually grow and multiply if they are rust or is it just a flaw in the paint? If rust then $25k?? If paint flaw maybe $30k. I could be way off so Really need pictures to see how nice.

It's hard to guess without pictures, but I have 30K in my head assuming there are no real issues.

40K is high. It would have to be mint at that price.

:iagree:  the non-matching block and hood hurts the value IMO (shaker hood is cool looking, but color matching a correct hood isn't easy ... esp B5 since there are several variables). what's under the paint bubble is a caution flag as well - minor flaw, no biggie .... if hiding major issues though, could cost you a lot more. however, correct '70 B5 is an awesome color IMO

I'm thinking more like $2.00-$200,000.00 depending on condition. :money:

Rim blow/rallye dash/macthing body numbers/matching cylinder heads/ all date coded and correct wiper motors and accessories. Interior close to mint, door panels have been sprayed. Body has not a ding exept 2-micro bubbles at driver quarter lip, otherwise laser straight. Trunk clean and replaced. Wheels like new, paint like new and it was done in 2004. Car to me seams super clean. Underneath is clean with factory undercoating, runs like a top, how big if an issue in value is the unstamped block? Have much does that effect value? As I am using this to gauge a possible offer, again with no photos but opinions are appreciated.

In my opinion the un stamped block doesnt do anything for the value its just a non numbers car. I guess if you had paper work showing the engine was replaced with a warranty block in 1970 it might add a little value vs. Just non matching.

If that is the car then most likely worth mid-to-high $30's :2cents:

See what you can get it at through negotiation........What about the Cuda's for sale in that California collection?  They are at $34.5K.  I have no idea what state they are in.  The B5 looks ok, but you are in a much better position to assess since you have seen it.
