Location of previous posts on rewiring starter?
« on: July 06, 2014 - 02:42:46 PM »
I would appreciate it if someone could point me towards one or more of the previous posts that shows how to add a separate feed for the starter to take some of the load off the dash wiring.   If there's something similar for the headlights, that would be of interest as well.

I have the dash frame and pad out.   This seems like a good time to consider some upgrades.   I've gone back through about 30 pages of the Electric section looking for what I think I saw before and keep finding other things that I find interesting/distracting.   I'm better about saving "dang I better remember this" posts as "favorites" now that I'm suffering from more CRS (Can't Remember....Stuff) these days.

After reading some of the posts about smoking wiring harnesses, I'm definitely going to take a closer look at my connectors and wiring too.

Think your confusing the ammeter bypass http://www.cuda-challenger.com/cc/index.php?topic=86329.msg861549#msg861549

Starter already uses a relay....for headlamps you can add relays by splicing into your existing harness http://www.moparmusclemagazine.com/techarticles/interior/mopp_0808_fixing_dim_or_blinking_headlights/
or the route I chose since I am going halogen was to get one of these ready made kits that plugs in

Thanks - that's what I was looking for.

I took a look at the engine wire harness termination on my firewall.   Things were definitely getting a little "toasty".
