Saw an article where a guy was running a vacuum pump on his crank case, which
can add 30+ horsepower, due to the pistons not pushing air when they in the downstroke
mode. Only problem was, on a high speed run, the vacuum pump pulley broke, the crankcase saw
a spike in pressure, and a valve cover gasket developed a leak, spraying oil on the headers, and
the guy became a high speed ball of flames going down the track. Suppose there are a few lessons
there!!
I do have some oil seepage on my headers, and when I start the car, I get some smoke for about 5 to 10 seconds.
Guess I better be watching for flames! Especially with a fiberglass hood.
