Along the same lines as what Michele's saying, years ago I was at a World of Wheels show, toward the end, and I was watching this guy take down a display at the center of which was a 70 Challenger Hemi. The display had the car rotating and tilted, so you could see that every components in the suspension had been chromed. When they took it down they carefully rolled it off the turntable, and then they were winching it up on a trailer while I was talking to the owner. Conversation went like this:

Me: Nice car.
Him: Thanks. It's fast too.
Me: Maybe, but I'll bet mine's faster.
Him: Whaddya have?
Me: 73 with a 318.
Him: (laughing) What makes you think yours is faster?
Me: As far as I can tell you don't start yours.

what really ticks me off is people pointing out  imperfections on a smashing (imo)  ride....  I built it A-Z with my own bare hands.... what the he!! makes you think you can find imperfections that I don`t know about   :bricks1:

Here's my VENT: :swear:

On Sunday morning someone stole a 1970 Cuda only hood latch from my blue tarp in Row F.  :clueless:
I was asking $20 and would have taken any offer, but I guess they felt FREE would be better. :screwy:

I hope it releases while they're driving down the highway.... :22yikes:
I've taught you everything you know.....but I haven't taught you everything I know !

Personally that is something I cannot deal with . . . I think it should be like in the olden days . . . when you get caught stealing . . they cut off your hand.  I think not to many people would steal much!

I have been going to shows since the 80s.quickly grew a thick skin and learned to take the source of comments into account.
Never any point to getting upset.

I have also learned to make frequent short stops at my car and enjoy what everyone else brought.

Relax and enjoy the shows, the world is full of self-centered people who never learned to keep their limited knowledge, manners and comments to themselves .

this is all too familiar.

i'm also inclined to ask............"where's your car"

but then i'd add......."why don't you go there and stay there"

i worked hard for 8 long years to restore - to the best of my ability - my '72 Challenger. i thought it came out great. the first year i had it to carlisle, which was 2010, i must of had 1/2 a dozen people start picking it apart. i even had one guy tell me i had the wrong trunk weatherstrip on it and pulled out the correct one to show me. what a jackass. unfortunately, opinions are like AzzHo1es, everyone's got one.

When I get attitudes like the ones posted, typically my first response is . . . . "So where is your car?"
