is it rebuildable or can you buy a new replacement unit or does one have to look at altrnatives?

There have been issues with the reproduction valves.  Something inside wasn't machined correctly which causes the brakes to stay applied.  I don't know if they got the issue fixed or not.  You can get them from Fine Lines.

Personally, I would disassemble the valve and soak it in EvapoRust.  I don't think there is an O-ring kit available but you should be able to find some at a parts store.  If the original ones are still good, I'd reuse them.  There isn't much to these valves.  Just be careful taking them apart.  I've got an exploded view of the valve but it's not on this computer.  I'll see if I can find it online.

thanks guys, at this point I dont believe there is anything wrong with mine apart from it looking 41 years old on the outside! knowing they have a couple of O rings inside and the master cylinder also being stuffed from age I was j'm just asking in preparation, Im going to leave it alone for now but would like to blow some break cleaner through the lines to flush out the old fluid, I assume it will just pass through the valve figuring it sits in a vlave neutral position until presure is applied??? :dunno:

If it's working, just leave it alone until you're ready to rebuild it.  The brake clean might do damage to the seals.  EvapoRust will make the outside look new again.  Some RPM over the top will keep it looking new.

Thanks Bd, yeah, was thinking the same, might just flush it out with the new fluid when the MC goes back on. pump out the old until it comes out the lines.
