Alternator ID

Team,
When I purchased my Cuda, the previous owner mumbled something about replacing the alternator and it melted a wire due to a bolt being too long and that it had all been fixed etc. Now, yes it did melt a wire and also per the pic gave the blue wire some love.

so, I'm trying to figure out what size the current Alt is, the only number I can find is cast into the housing on the front and that is 3395191. Everything is working ok at the moment however, not knowing if its a large alternator and with no Amp gauge bypass etc I'm fearfull of a further melt down.


So, how can I tell what the output of this alternator is please?

Oh, the main wire it melted was the main wire from the Alternator, shown in red on the pic of my enging behind the alternator

it is the std alt so probably 55-65 amp unless the rebuilding upgraded it , you can have it tested for max output

Did a bit more surching, looks like its a 75 Alt, p/n 3874271
