kick down linkage mods?
« on: August 04, 2014 - 08:15:44 PM »
after changing intake, carb, throttle bracket my 3 piece linkage is a bit to short by roughly a half inch. I can shortn the slot[easiest] or lengthen the top rod. anyone do either with ill effect?

Someone makes a short extension for the upper rod. I'm not sure who that is though. I made my own.

Drill a hole through a small piece of aluminum and cut threads into it.  Screw a stud into one end.(just threads in the other end)  Then you can install it between the front and back sections of the upper rod.  Obviously this only works if you have a two piece upper rod.

I ended up cutting and welding 1" of rod and lengthened the upper rod.now I can adjust the upper and middle rod in the center of the threads instead of the ends and have full adjustment.I only hope I didn't do damage to my trans, seemed fine. teat drive tomorrow
