shimming steering box?
« on: July 06, 2016 - 11:19:43 AM »
I bought the firm feel quick ratio Pittman and idler arm set. the Pittman arm and tie rod grease fitting clash with the torsion bar. firm feel tech department said to shim my steering box, and Chrysler corp did this all the time. is this correct?                                                                              Mark. :dunno:

I actually did this so my steering column shaft could clear my headers.

It's not a problem, get the correct sized shim and make sure you crank her down.
