Doubt many smog inspectors would know what to look for..... Most would expect things that don't belong & not recognize what does belong... These cars are older than the inspectors..
Back in the early 90's I was still required to smog my car.
It was legal to swap to a bigger engine if it was made the same year as the body. I had a 340 then.
The smog techs were all telling me that my unsilenced 340 air cleaner wasn't correct.
They wanted to send me to a referee saying my air cleaner didn't have a TAC and heat riser.
