AAR Help 297309
« on: August 14, 2014 - 11:24:49 PM »
Hi guys
About a year ago I bought a numbers matching AAR with this VIN. EW1 white, black interior, automatic console. I am trying to find any information about this car. It has a signature on the driver sunvisor of Sam Posey. Engine S/N, body and trans all match so authenticity is not a concern I just would like to know if anyone knows this car or anything about it, including (in my dreams) a build sheet. Lots of little issues but all in all a great car.
Thanks
Bob J

I will research some more for you, but this is what I know about your AAR:

It has a VON of M03687
It has clean, original floors that is painted body color
It has an AM radio
It has a newly plated idle solenoid bracket
It has a worm type clamp on the upper radiator hose/thermostat housing
It has evidence of rust pitting on the lower areas of the air cleaner

Thanks-that is the car, the previous owner replaced the AM radio with an AM/FM which I will be changing back, we replaced all of the hose clamps with OEM clamps, replaced the water pump with a NOS, rebuilt the radiator and are trying to find a power steering pump for it. We also fixed all the non-matching door/ignition/trunk keys and repaired the broken driver door lock while also replacing the air filter element, battery hold down, battery and cables with NOS. We removed the non-stock window tinting and re-detailed the underside. It has a number of electrical issues that we will start with tomorrow. Would appreciate any info you can provide. We have the pictures the previous owner provided during the restoration process, but that is all we have.

Thanks
Bob J

Register your car with The Hamtramck Registry. Barry Washington has a lot of information on these cars. He is in the process of moving to Pennsylvania so he is not taking new registration at this time but will when he gets settled in Pennsylvania.
