1971 Challenger door jamb switch
« on: March 14, 2013 - 08:40:38 AM »
Hello gang.
Have another question regarding '71 Challengers. My buddy's '71 Challenger R/T is missing the door jamb light switch. I have noticed that the driver's side had a round plug with 3 wires whereas the passenger side has a 2-spade-type plug. Does any sell these new? Are all '71's this way?

Thanks in advance.

As far as I know all 71's are the unique plug and door switch. It's a one year only design.

I've been tryin to confirm if the passenger door is a single or 3 prong type.
The schmatic isn't clarifying it well enough for me to determine.

All 71's I've worked on, and I've had a few, all had a three prong on the driver's side and a two prong on the passenger's side.
The three prong is not reproduced to my knowledge and NOS ones are getting hard to find.  :2cents:

    :iagree:

3-prongs on the driver's side and two on the passenger's side in 71. Good luck finding that 3-prong switch.    :pullinghair:

I need the 2 prong switch for the passenger side.
What does it look like?

Is it unique?
And who carries them?

Already have a brand new 3 prong switch for D/S.

A 71 driver's door jamb switch was a one year only thing. Much harder to find.
