So none of the fuses were blown, but I removed the bulkhead connector and the pink spade terminal was bent during the install so that's fixed now. Finally getting reliable power to the coil. The small 12v ign wire I pulled still isn't getting hot now though but I'll figure that out later.

I think I flooded the carb so I'm waiting a little bit and gonna try starting it again.

Wish American Autowire would specify if the ECU is still used with their harness. I have it wired in and don't see why it would be a bad thing. It almost seems like they want it bypassed though w the dist hooked up straight to the coil. Would that work?

Edit: Can't get it to start with any amount of fuel, gonna have to check for spark tomorrow. Best test for that just holding a pulled plug and wire to the block?

I usually just lay the plug on the valve cover so I can see it while reaching thru the window and turning the key....after 55 years of playing with cars, I have never bought a spark tester :D

Hey guys, forum newbie here (but not to e-bodies). Hope I can help. Before I start rambling, AAW actually has some pretty good customer support. You want to talk to Craig (He is the resident Mopar guy there) 1-800-482-9473 x212. Had the same problem with my AAW classic update series harness (no ecu wiring instructions) and craig helped me out. Dont know if you bought their stock harness or classic update series, but if the latter you might have problems like i did. If i have time when i get home tonight Ill try and get some pics and figure out how to get them on here. Unless i misread your post you mentioned the voltage regulator (and now i think AAW only offfers their classic update series for e-bodies) so you wont be using your voltage regulator, since your 1 wire high output alternator will handle voltage regulation. (one of the things you have to buy to use this harness since its designed for higher electrical loads.) All I have now is a 1wire HO alternator (100 amp) Rev-n-ator (like the stock ecu but much improved with built in adjustable rev limiter ...uses stock ecu plug) and a ballast resistor with 1 spade terminal at each end (mine originally had 2) .5 ohms I think. Background 74 barracuda bought in 1991 for $675 with a 318 and a blown 904. Started piecing together essentially a mopar magnum engine without magnum heads before MP offered a crate engine. installed and drove that for a while, blew that , built another, ate a valve, built one last one and master cyl. went bad.... car sat in garage for 12 years....until now! Just finished about a month ago...thank god! Ill introduce myself properly on th newbie board soon.  Anyway I decided to go the AAW route and think they make a prettey nice product..... but its not without flaws...what are all those connectors for by the tail lights? I deleted them... much cleaner. Biggest thing... if your running an electric choke carb and your engine kit hookup chart 510292 is not dated rev 1.0 2/3/2014 the choke WILL NOT work if you follow their directions. the previous version has the customer added choke wire in the wrong slot on the bulkhead dissconnect... so now i have to cut, splice, recrimp after the fact. Cant believe this revision only came out after i talked to them, or im the 5th customer for this harness and everyone else is running manual chokes or FI. These harness manufacturers only give you hook up charts and not wiring diagrams which makes it almost impossible to troubleshoot withou their assistance. Anyway ill try and get some pics or more info out tou you. Good luck. You will have a solid electrical system when you get the bugs worked out.

hi never2late i recently purchased the aaw classic update series kit and i'm about to run into the same problem as i don't have any wiring instructions to wire in the ecu the voltage regulator or the original connections on the points style distributor you said you got help is there any way you could send those pictures of how to wire in the components
