I don't know, having the coils that close to the manifold is going to open you up to issues with radiant heat damage, not conductive.  You may want to reconsider mounting them somewhere a little farther away.  Do you have enough room to plug the wires into the coil without hitting the manifold?  My brackets have the coils floating off of the valve covers and suspended by two long studs and spacers, so they really do not see any heat at all other than normal under hood heat.

quagmire, I gotta say I'm impressed... Well thought out, well executed... When I first started reading I wondered why you went batch fire but that got remedied quickly... I like what you've done but honestly the thing I like most is your solution to the bulkhead connectors... I've done a few upgrades in that area but never as nice as what you've done... I've seen some scary messes in that location when guys go to universal harnesses... You've given everyone a blueprint of the right way to handle that problem......  BTW those Bussman configurable electrical centers are nice...

understood. As for heat issue there is plenty of air gap all around them. Closest point to manifold on bottom is around 4-5 inches. If heat becomes issue a simple flat shield could be added. Just threw this out as an idea.

No criticism here. Inspiration of yours is helping me along.

No worries, it must be the picture playing tricks on my eyes.  They looked much closer than that!  5" worth of clearance should be fine.

Thank you!  The huge grommet I had to deal with early on when I went to a universal harness was enough to make me want a true sealed bulkhead.  I'm spoiled from working around modern OEM vehicles.  A grommet makes it impossible to remove the harness without cutting it in half (not fun when you consider the amount of wires I have passing through), and it doesn't lend itself to very good water sealing either.  The Ampseal connectors are submersible and quite cheap, and they have a very high pin density for the amount of space they consume.

I'm actually going to add another PDM and tuck it under the battery tray to clean up the clutter of headlight, fan, and starter Bosch relays and another fuse block that is open to the elements on the driver side fender area.  I have Metripack 150 and 280 connectors on pigtails to make it a plug and play deal should I have to pull a harness or modify it.  And it's substantially smaller and more compact than the outgoing hardware; the box will hide perfectly on the frame rail under the tray.

Over the winter I added an amber warning and check engine light (with an engine pic and all) so I can begin tuning fail safes.  I'm going to utilize the AFR safety system, oil pressure, and fuel pressure functions to protect the engine if anything goes awry.  The amount of functions available in the MS3 software is amazing, to the point where it is almost overwhelming at times.  I love the tunability though.

I got my coil brackets today and they fit perfectly. Will need to have the aluminum stand-offs welded to the valve cover though.

They look very neat and tidy.

As for your stand offs, I would assume the aluminum valve covers are thick enough to tap. Have the standoffs be hollow and use a longer bolt that screws into v/c.

I think you'l find that area of those valve covers is less than 1/6" thick... I have the same ones.... Very thin in that area...

I suggested tapping because my welding experience on cast aluminum that has been oil splashed/soaked was not pleasant. If you end up welding. Clean and cook those suckers for a long time first.

This \/\/. Or if you don't want separate nuts. Add Weld to the underside to add some thickness in required spots For tapping.  Upside of Weld on inside is it doesn't have to be pretty. Just thicker.
