Painting Dash Frame

I have the dash frame completely stripped and need to paint it.  All has been sanded now I want to paint it the stock color.

Did they use the exterior paint to paint the dash frame?  My exterior paint code is GF3 for a 1972 Challenger.

I will also be painting ash tray and glove box door.

Original interior dash paint was a laquer. It had a slight texture.

I was told this was a good match to try.

For green I would try the interior paint from Herb's Parts http://www.herbsparts.com/proddetail.asp?prod=PAINT

I've heard Herbs mentioned a couple times for paint on other interior stuff.  I will give it a shot. 

Would you all recommend hitting the metal dash with a primer first?  Or will this adhere directly?

I'd go without primer...I find stuff scratches easier when I use primer

But I would recommend wiping or brushing a metal cleaner phosphate first like Krud Kutter or Ospho on the metal if it's bare steel. 3M scuff off the white residue once dried then spray bomb it.
