71 e body: Adjusting front end height
« on: September 04, 2014 - 09:39:34 AM »
I understand the front end ride height can be adjusted to a point over the recommended stock setting?

Id like my front fenders to ride a little higher over the front tires.  Even an inch or so would make me happy

Which way to I turn the adjusters?

Also, if I can raise an inch or so, is it recommended that I get the front end alignment done again?

You need to tighten the adjuster bolt / clockwise to raise the car . Make sure the weight is off the suspension when you do this go 5-6 full turns drive the car & see if it settles at the height you want . Resetting the alignment is a must as the toe in will change with adjusted height

Super and great timing Chrycho.   I have the car on my lift now and was waiting for response.  And simple instructions as well.   Will try, if it works Ill get the alignment done as well

the camber will change slightly but the toe in is the one that really changes , if you have 2 people you can reset the toe in with a tape measure across the front & rear of the tires using the same place in the tread front & rear , you only want 1/16" - 1/8" of toe in .

You should loosen the big nuts on front of the lower control arms before adjusting the height. :2cents:
