UNDER CARPET SEAT BELT SHIELDS
« on: September 28, 2014 - 01:08:13 PM »
I just bought these and the do not appear to fit my 1970 Challenger covert. Does anyone know if these are 1970-71 MOPAR, CUDA CHALLENGER, UNDER CARPET SEAT BELT SHIELDS as stated in the ad? After emailing the seller that I was unable to see how they would fit he assured me that these are correct,"THESE ARE THE SECOND GEN. COVERS, I USED THEM IN MY HEMI CUDA. AS YOU CAN SEE THE FIRST GEN. COVERS WHERE MADE OF A PLASTIC THAT CRACKED AND  CHALKED INTO POWDER. I HAD TO TRIM THEM A LITTLE BUT THEY FIT

"And if you run into any problems we can restore your car for you".......   I'm trying to fix one of those jobs right now... Only all I can do is hopefully fix the absolute worst of the hack & maim, the complete lack of quality work is unbelievable... The shop that did this shouldn't fix a Ham Sandwich, never might about a 70K resto of a very decent Challenger...

Those are the ones I am familiar with.  This seller has 100 percent feed back on over 1300 transactions so I'm not too worried I got "taken"  I just think they are for a different car altogether and he thinks they're for an e body.  I have sent an email to the seller and his reply:

Dear xxxxxxx
Would you have picture or a diagram of how these go on?
- brotow

Dear brotow,
I WILL TRY TO EXPLAIN. THE BELT RE TRACTOR BOLTS TO THE SIDE OF THE DOOR SEAL, THERE SHOULD BE A BOLT HOLE ON EACH SIDE, JUST BEHIND THE SEATS. THE COVER THE FACES OUT SO THE RE TRACTOR CAN BE PULLED THROW IT. IT IS NOT SCREWED DOWN IT SIMPLY SITS ON TOP OF THE RE TRACTOR. THE CARPET COVERS IT AND A BEAUTY RING THEN SCREWS TO THE COVER THRU THE CARPET AND THE RE TRACTOR PULLS THRU IT AND THRU THE SEAT HING COVER,,I WILL LOOK FOR A PICTURE AND SEND IT IF I CAN FIND ONE.
