tti header install on column shift cars
« on: October 05, 2014 - 06:20:13 PM »
In order to install tti headers on my 340 70 Cuda, automatic with column shifter, I had to order and install their shifter torque shaft assembly which replaces the stock one.  That piece is well made and works fine.  My problem is their instruction requires you do modify/bend the transmission gear selector rod and although I followed their instructions to a tee and the transmission does shift gears as required, the gear pointer on the column does not line up exactly with the gear selected.  It is not off much, but I'm not happy with the results.  If I adjust the linkage so the pointer is more accurate, the park position and ignition lock does not work smoothly.
If tti sold a modified rear rod I would gladly buy one.  I talked with their tech guys on another issue, the kickdown rod, and it was obvious to me they had never experienced an install of their product.  If the rear rod in question had an adjustable insert on one end or the other that would help with the adjustment in my opinion.
Has anyone else dealt with this issue?
thanks.
