« on: October 03, 2014 - 12:46:31 PM »
I want to space out my pass side rear tire 6mm. !/2" NC. Anybody know what the stock length is? 2"?
I want to replace them tonight but forgot to measure before I left for work this morning.

I just measured my stock ones I removed at 1.5".  I could not find long studs at my local retail store and had to order them through Summit.  I think I got 3" studs to fit my new modern aluminum wheels.  This could save you a trip home to measure!  J

Thanks for the replies. 'Things' happened at work and never got a chance to pick up studs - or even see if they had them. Monday job now.

Do you measure knurl diameter just with calipers on the knurl area? I know, sounds like a dumb question but the pkg say .625 knurl. Don't know what size I actually need for a stock 8 3/4 axle.

I just put a caliper on my knurling, and it read in the .660 range.  I had some variance so I don't know the exact number.

I just replaced the passenger rear studs on my 68 charger this weekend.  I used:
Moser Engineering 8040 Wheel Stud  1/2''-20 x 1-1/2'' .665'' Knurl
Picked them up off eBay for $20.  Fit no problem.

Nice to be rid of the last of the wrong hand thread wheel studs

Thanks. Just checked mine and they seem to be .664 - .666

Jamiez, do the moser pieces seem like a quality bolt?

They seem to be. The knurl looked to be well made and they installed fairly easily.

Hmmm. Looking for 1/2-20 x 1.75". Maybe 2".  So far unable to find. May have to buy 3" studs and cut them down.

I see they have the 1.75" studs I'm looking for, have you bought from them Brad. Never heard of H Paulin?
