HELP! Vehicle owner/title history $$$ REWARD

Hey everyone,

I am currently hope to chase up the ownership history of my vehicle. At this stage I am more than happy to offer $500 to anybody that could help me access owner history of my car. I'd happily pay $1000 to somebody that could track down entire ownership history.

Car is 1970 Dodge Challenger R/T (U-Code), TX9 stripe delete, A33 ---- JS23U0B162243 - previously registered in California (Licence 6KMD516).

Now... I only know who the previous owner is that I bought it from. I believe he purchased the car on consignment through MERIDIAN AUTOMOTIVE in CA (which has since shut down, so I cannot chase information). I think the car had Oklahoma plates on at the time of sale (Licence RTRSTR), but I cannot be sure these are original to the vehicle (but could be).
I have been told one of the previous owners could have been Armie Hammer (actor) as this is what the dealer told the previous owner, but this cannot be confirmed.

If anybody thinks that they can help, or can direct me to somebody that can help, it'd be greatly appreciated! Please PM me or respond to this thread!

Yeah I had an N code previously that was a Vanishing Point clone, but I always wanted black... this one popped up and it was exactly what I wanted.
Dana 60, 440 (six pack w/ shaker hood added), t/a spoilers, 4 speed manual, original tx9 stripe delete car - everything perfect.

I reallly really hope there's some PI's out there or somebody that has a passion for tracking down history because I want to keep this thing as long as I can and I think if I can find out some history, I'll be far more inclined to do so.

My Cuda' was built in LA and I had an insurance card that showed it had been registered in LA back in 1995 so I figured I would check with the California DMW to see what info I could obtain on previous owners.  At the time (back around 2008) the DMV said if I write them a letter and send in some money (I think it was $25) they would send me the history of the previous people who had registered the car.  They said they only keep records for 20 years so that is as far back as they could provide. 

I sent them the letter and money and a few weeks later I got a list of the previous owners all the way back to 1988 (just names, no contact info).  I have not done much since then to find the original owner as I decided to just worry about getting the car restored.  I figure if by chance I find them, I would rather have pictures of the resorted car to share with them then pictures of the jalopy that it currently is.  I will probably pick up this pursuit again in the future after the car has been repainted an put back together.

Most state DMVs can do a title search that produces history of sales and subsquent titling actions. I'd recommend starting there. However, because of privacy concerns, its getting harder and harder to get this information.

I was able to track all owner of my 67 GTX from Mo. I drew a blank on my Challenger. The guy I bought it off bought it in Calif where it was sold new. The Calif DMV basically asked me what year it was and I told them a 1970 and they laugh. I did find a dealer license plate under the Calif tag and it was from ESCONDITO DODGE. I was told they were out of business. I think it depends on what state since some keep better records that others.
