Is the only difference the additional hole for the bumper gaurd for the rear?

How can you tell these from the later ones like 72-74?

I picked up a car and I am trying to get it somewhat together so I can drive it and a buddy had a set of bumpers but did not know the year they are.

1972 and up have slots for the bumper jack

73 and 74 bumpers have holes on top for that funky 5mph bumper guard and the holes don't line up with the 70-72 bumper brackets.

Does the bumpers sit over top of the polished pc on the lower grill and does anyone have a photo of how far in the front sits?

71 bumpers and jacks were changed in the middle of the model year. Later 71 bumpers will have the jack slots.
