Headlight Help
« on: November 19, 2014 - 08:45:18 PM »
Help Guys,
Can't figure out how the metal/plastic adjuster retainer mounts to the car. :banghead:
This is the white plastic piece with the metal cage that the threaded adjuster bolt threads into.
Ive tried to install on the fwd side of the frame, also on the hard to get to back side.

Cant get it to seat completly into the square hole. Tried to seperate the two pieces and install. Best Ive done is kinda pushed into the back side and the tension of the bolt kind of held it in but it dont look right to me.

Can someone tell me how these install. :1zhelp:

I had a hell of a time getting mine in too. I wound up taking them apart and put the metal piece in first then hammer the plastic in. Buckets were out of the car and support the back side of the clip and then hit the plastic in. That's the only way I got mine in!

I did feably try to seperate them but the metal cage has tabs that lock the plastic to it and It to me looks like its not suppose to dissasemble. :banghead:

Are you sure that how it is suppose to assemble. :clueless:

Does anyone else have a different sucess story on these? Who ever designed these should be taken outside and shot...several times..  :horse:

If you look at how the metal part is suppose to clip over the plastic part....I sort of start that process manually first then hammer then in the hole usually with one good wack...
I've taught you everything you know.....but I haven't taught you everything I know !

Your not supposed to take them apart but that was the only way I could get mine on. You have to be real careful taking the plastic out or the clip will break. I'm sure the OEM clips pop right in. The aftermarket clips are probably a little off like every other aftermarket part.
