What is your favorite aftermarket tach?
« on: November 30, 2014 - 08:57:57 PM »

Well it looks like I'm going to replace the autometer tach I have since I don't want to mess with the electronic ignition wiring and it kinda acts flakey anyway.

I've been eyeing an eqqus tach but I'm open to others.

Let me know what you guys like!

My car had a full compliment of Eqqus gauges but accuracy and looks were not great, I didn't install so there may have been issues there, but I've crossed them off the list for my reinstall.....

I can't believe folks only use Autometer and Eqqus here.

Chime in folks!

I liked my Speedhut revolution.  Fully adjustable, super easy install and only about 1.5" deep

Currently I have this autometer http://www.autometer.com/cat_gaugedetail.aspx?gid=3492&sid=15&gnid=-1&zid=-1&cid=1&tid=-1&sectionHash=color_tab-tab

But I just ordered speedhut gauges including a tach

I am running an AutoMeter whiteface and it has been in there for about 10 years and never missed a beat..

Just bought a very small 2 1/16 autometer tach to run beside my oil pressure guage. I don't really need one but I am sure I will like watching it move around.

I use a Mallory Rev-Limiter... same overall diameter as the factory rally-in-dash tach (I could probably make it fit into the dash)...   its got an adjustable dial to set the rpm limit... works great and has saved my engine over and over in autocross/road course events.  I've got it mounted immediately in front of the factory in-dash tach.

Also, I've occasionally used a small 2-1/16" diameter tach velcroed on top of the dash as it's easier to view being un-obstructed in my straight forward view.
Autocross/road racers go in deeper... and come out harder!
