Brakes on 1973 Roadrunner
« on: December 06, 2014 - 11:10:13 PM »
Hello everyone, Maybe someone can help me with the issue my Brother and I are having working on the brakes for his 1973 Roadrunner. we have replaced the front calipers, brake master cylinder and the front brake lines. when we try bleeding the braked the pedal drops to close to the floor and sometimes when you open the bleeder fluid and air comes out, and the pedal drops and other times nothing happens. then after closing the bleeder the pedal will drop. could the metering/ proportioning valve be bad and not working properly to allow the fluid to work calipers properly. also there in very little pad movement when you depress pedal. basically the brakes are barely working. any ideas and help would be great. also the adjustment on the rod feeding the Master cylinder is adjusted pretty far out. thanks for the help everyone..

Are the calipers installed  correctly , the bleed screws need to be at the top so air is not trapped inside

yes Calipers are installed correctly. thanks for responding. we are trying to figure it out with the system sometimes seeming to bleed properly and other times after pumping pedal and opening up bleed screw and nothing coming out. also the whole issue with the pedal seeming to not be functioning right.

First, did you bench bleed the master cylinder ? If not you will never get a pedal. Once you do that bleed RR, LR, RF, then LF.
