Using a hand lever for the emergency brake?

When I was taught how to drive on an stick shift a couple of centuries ago, the lessons included starting from a dead stop on some steep inclines.  This involved using a hand lever to gradually release the e brake to avoid rolling backwards into the car that was inevitably too close behind me.   I was curious if there are any examples of Challengers or others using a hand lever like what Lokar offers instead in the pedal e brake.  I was not planning to have a console in my car, but one immediate complication of installing a hand lever is that adding a console later would be a bigger pain.

I'm not against learning how to use the pedal version, but it seems like one less thing to screw up when I'm finally driving the Challenger.

Anything is possible with a little work/money applied to it. Drifters add seperate right/left hand brakes to help pitch their car into a slide.

You could offset this lever to the side of the tunnel next to the seat if you wanted a stock console later. Or come up with a modified console deisgn to accomodate the brake lever.

Yep seems doable ,and make a console to fit after it is mounted,cut up and old console,make it fit

A member here beck did that in his build tread.  I bought the Loklar hand brake and will also be doing the exact same thing he did.  If you review his build you can see the exact location beside the seat.

John - that's the idea, except I wouldn't have the cool console to go with it.   For this e-brake handle location, what did you or will you do for the e-brake cables - a customer order length, or is there an available  part that works?

Planned on might doing this on my bee in the future, but I'm looking to place the lever like on the old volvo 122-142 series, on the left of the drivers seat.
Might be worth looking in to?

I had the lokar, and got rid of it. I grabbed one out of a dodge stratus. $10 from pick a parts and very stout. Plus it's longer and has more of a modern feel. Sorry no pics right now as car is out away for winter

You can get the universal cables online , I got mine off the Speedway Motors Website. The lokar handbrake works great and very adjustable,
