My next dream Mopar: 1970 Challenger T/A
« on: November 25, 2014 - 11:32:37 AM »
Hi Guys,

I live in Munich, Germany and have a 1968 Dodge Charger... My next love is a 1970 Dodge Challenger T/A 340...

I think that I would like to start my search for one of these beautiful cars and have a couple questions for the E-Body experts:

- What should one expect to pay for a good to excellent example of this vehicles?

- What are some of the things to look out for on these cars (i.e. pitfalls, etc.)?

- What are the best sources and places to buy (i.e. look for) them?

Any other info/ advice would be appreciated!

Thanks,

Charlie

Welcome aboard...     You can look in our "Cars For Sale" section and there are many sites to search for a car. Try www.cars-on-line.com. They always have a fair amount of Mopars listed. Good luck in your search..   :2thumbs:

Welcome from Colorado!  I have seen #1 to 2 (perfect to near perfect condition numbers matching) T/A and AAR's go for $90,000-$120,000 USD.  You can find #3 (good) condition ones for $50,000 - $60,000 USD. Best of luck in your search.

Here are a couple Pictures of my 68 Charger when I bought her... Currently she is being restored/re-painted, and will be getting a Ray Barton 528 Hemi and Overdrive 4-Speed, as well as many other little goodies...

Thanks for the first feedback. What I have learned with these old cars is, buy the best you can get! You will always end up spending more on a restoration in the long run... Better have someone else have gone through that... I also am a strong believer that these classic cars will only go up in value in the long-run and believe that they are good long-term investments...

Are they generally hard to come by?? Definitely would want a 4-speed...

Thx!

Love that Charger!!   :ylsuper: :ylsuper: :ylsuper:

T/A's and AAR's are not in abundant but are available.  Just need to do your homework, searching, and comparing - knowing exactly what you want (color, 4 speed, condition) and a budget will help.

Welcome Charlie...

Great looking '68.. Beat it feels great driving around in that thing, 4-speed and all.....

If you drive it alot, I would get the proper body plugs, especially for the rear quarter-extensions... Othewise, when it rains, those lower quarters will fill up with water, mud and debris.

I just got a T/A and it is great....
