Gran Coupe seats
« on: November 29, 2014 - 02:47:40 PM »
my 70 Gran Coupe originally came with the black vinyl and hounds tooth cloth seats. Someone years ago put stock Barracuda vinyl seat covers in it. I really need to replace the seat foam so while I'm at it I'm going to change the seat covers. I was going to go with the black leather seats but my whole family says they look boring and I should get the original style cloth seats. My son said it best " the hounds tooth cloth looks sharp and really screams 70's"
Does anyone have those seats in their Gran Coupe and how do you like them?

With all the Gran Coupes in this forum, I must be the only one with that seat option. Makes me want to go with those seats even more! Or, do you suppose their is a reason I might be the only one? LOL

Just as an FYI those seats became available on other Barracudas and Cudas too. I like them.

I like the hounds tooth over the all black vinyl,
If there is orange hounds tooth to match your exterior I would go for it.

I cant stand black interiors.
Found this burnt orange last year.

I've known of a few Cuda's with the cloth Houndstooth seats with red piping... Very good looking combo.... It should have red inserts in the door panels & rear panels...

I've talked to Colin, the owner of the Gran Coupe in the pics you just posted wild r/t. He was really helpful. I'm defiantly going with those seats. They call the inserts on the doors red in the Plymouth material I've read on that option but on my car they sure look orange to me. Maybe it's my Hemi orange body color making the inserts look that color. I'm going to talk to Legendary about changing the welting on the seats from the red they come with to more of an orange to match the door inserts and the body color.

FWIW thirty years ago those inserts looked more red than orange... I'm sure the sun has changed them.... And they were rare 30 years ago... Wood grain inserts were much easier to find... Definitely a cool option..
