Who's stock exhaust to buy
« on: June 26, 2015 - 12:09:19 AM »
I want a stock exhaust system for my challenger. If you had a choice to go with Accurate Exhaust or Dales Cuda shop who would you choose. I got an Accurate exhaust for my cuda but I noticed the pipes from Dales are welded on the mufflers so I'm not sure what is the better setup for the money. I used Dales for an AAR I put together for someone and had no complaints about either company. I'm so confused!!! I need to do a lot of shopping at Carlisle. FYI I talked to Accurate Exhaust and they said they are not going to Carlisle this year but have a 20% discount until the 10th. Still a $179.00 shipping charge.

I'm just debating about the same thing. I think I'm gonna go with the one from dale it has the pentastar on it and I heared they fit really good. The only problem is they don't have the headpipes for the regular 340.
I called acurate ltd the other day and they told me there Carlisle special is 75$ delivery anywhere in the USA. They can alos ship to Carlisle.

I too will have to cross this bridge eventually and from this forum and some others, isn't there a 3rd choice as well when it comes to exhaust systems?

Boy it really pays off asking questions here. I didn't know accurate had a $75 shipping fee for the Carlisle special! That throws a curve ball in the mix.

I have an Accurate system on my stock 383 Challenger R/T. Fit was excellent. Spent time on the phone confirming the order and matching head pipe to my stock exhaust manifold and confirming my manifold casting numbers. Have the stock exhaust system with resonators and mufflers. Recall that welding the tailpipe to muffler was an option for stock appearance that I did do. Happy with the product. I was looking for the stock sound.

There actually is a third option for a stock OE type exhaust.  Its ECS.  They make exact copy of the exhaust systems now down to the date code, vendor code, pentastar, and correct bends/crushed areas like the factory pipes exhibit.  We have a complete set of exhaust from ECS on our challenger vert and our GTX vert.  I have a partial ECS exhaust on my charger with only the front exhaust pipes not being from them.  Over all I am VERY happy with the sounds and the quality of the ECS system.  I've had other competitors systems mentioned on my charger and challenger and we chose to remove them due to issues and personal choices over the years.

I forgot to mention ECS can weld the mufflers on like the factory did if you'd like to, it would probably bump up the shipping costs though as it would make the piece considerably longer.

I just been thru this for exhaust for 70 challenger r/t 440 mag. dales cuda does not sell a unit for 440 mag. I looked at ESC with correct numbers but did not but did not think the extra money was worth it . who is going to look under your car and say no numbers on your muffler. I went Accurate and going to weld the pieces at shop after install.

Put Accurate on my 1972 Challenger restoration last year.  Running straight off original exhaust manifold.  Sounds better then it did from the factory.  Easy to install.  We had a couple questions and when I called the owner answered and walk me through it.  Very helpful and quality of product is excellent.
