all,

with all my notes, pics and markings
I can't tell when torsion rods are in body "frame" ends ready to be connected back up to the lower control arm "socket/lobe" where it should go.
I marked the socket, rod and body receiver with a punch for alignment during reassembly, but some marks where lost during blasting and paint.
I also notice a slot cut in all the end of the rods, should this be positioned in body end or socket or in a certain orientation to body?

The only info I find reads, "let lower arm drop all the way", but since the socket turns independently of the control arm and only solid connection is from the socket to the lobe, this is no help to move control arm.
It also doesn't specify if this is with spindle, upper control arm, shocks or support rods installed, no help as mine is completely bare at the moment, (only k member and lower control arm in place) and so the control arm drops way down, I have tried a few options, with the adjuster back to where they were originally , but neither seems correct.
a pic and or measurement of car to ground height, and socket/lobe to ground would be best.

When all is set right and car is under its own weight, how close should those lobes come to the frame?, as I see there is some relief stamped into the frame rails. this may also help to tell where the socket/lobe end should be turned to.

please help.
Thanks

Ok to line up the sockets correctly you need to back the adjustment screw all the way out of the threaded block until the lever arm on the control arm socket will touch the threaded block , then you need the lower control arm dropped down as far as it will go with it disconnected from the spindle . The torsion bar can be inserted with any orientation , 6 positions , so the slot is not important , also  front to back is also not important , it will function the same .... But I always install them with the 3 digit part # to the rear [776,777,778 ,779 , etc] for future reference & the slot horizontal so the part # can be easily read in the car , but this is just my preference . The other thing is the odd # bar is always the left bar , even is always right .
Whne the suspension is loaded with the full car weight the bolt had is normally recessed into the control arm & the head should be approx flush with the lower surface of the control arm .

When you install the torsion bar do you cover the hex ends with grease, anti seize or leave them dry?

I grease the holes so the heads slide in easier, but nothing is applied to the hex ends.  Don't forget the C clips in the hole when you are done to hold them in.
