door pin kits.....AMD vs others?
« on: January 13, 2015 - 11:46:09 AM »
I am needing to order a door pin kit for my 73 Barracuda hinges.  Is there a difference in the AMD, Dorman or other brands?   I see some listed at $10 (AMD that are out of stock), Dormans and Total Automotive (made in USA) listed at $7-8 and got a quote for AMD's that are in stock for $40. :clueless:   So is there a difference in the quality of the different brands out there? :dunno:

$8 - $40 is too big of a spread. I bought some from Napa for $11 Cdn. I haven't put them in yet but they look good. Keep in mind that unless your car is going to be your daily driver the doors don't get much use and the new pins will last for years. Can't see the $40 ones being any advantage.

shouldn't be any real difference beside the price. Dorman you can get locally.

I think the $40 ones, are because they seemed to be the only AMD ones that I could find in stock.  Going to pass on them though.  :smilielol:

Buy them local, they are all pretty much the same; I think Dorman supplies most of the part store brands anyway, they are just re-boxed.
