Question on window glass numbers
« on: January 11, 2015 - 08:47:12 PM »
I have a 74 Challenger. The passenger's door window and both rear side windows are stamped with the Pentastar logo and a PPG logo plus the numers AS2 M20.7 26 63 Dot 18. The driver's door is Pentastar, PPG, AS2 M7.8 26 73 Dot 18. I got a used replacement driver's window that is stamped Pentastar DCL AS2 M21 BG69 Dot 19.

What do these numbers mean?

Murray, I'd bet the DCL on the replacement window was for Daimler Chrysler LLc or Limited. The dot # I believe is a reference to the Dept of Transport spec required for that year and model. The other ones need a secret decoder ring, so drink your Ovaltine like a nice laddie.  ;)   If you REALLY want to know, you could call a glass place- like Apple or Standard and they may be able to enlighten you.
