    70 chall rear frame rail holes

    Does anyone know what goes on the two 7/16 holes on the bottom of the rear frame rails about 1 1/2 to 2 feet from the rear shackles, about even with the rear wheel wells, before the shock mount cross member?

    Probably the transport tie downs.  I think they were typically removed by the dealer.

    They don't hurt anything and are good if you are ever going to transport your car.

    So that is what the hell those things are! I thought at first that they were tow brackets :screwy:
    They looked like they were factory from the markings, but I had no idea what they were for.
    Now it makes sense

    The picture shows how the brackets are installed, however mine seem to fit better with the left and right reversed as the picture.  Is there a correct way the higher edge should face? Inside or outside?

    The picture is correct.  The "open" edge goes to the outside...

    Odd...The above picture looks a lot like a 71 Cuda I restored years ago....but even I don't have pictures of it :clueless:
